Card Review #21

Card Number/Card Name: Crux Dogatie (CH-C35 Red)

Description : M/Ad
Stats: 0/0/0

Effect: Prevent(9) Family Name
(Auto D): At the end of your turn, put a Hate Coin onto this card.
(Auto D): When this card sortie for attack, do X damages to opponent's Nation and all opponent's Units. The value X is equal to number of Hate coins.
(Auto A): This card's set group, when a character with "NT", cannot be target of opponent's Command.

Finally, after like a whole week spent translating old set (playing the catch up game), it's time for a new review.

This time, we would do a card from Red (finally again it's their turn), and a type of card I had never review: character, the most underlooked (outside of weenie deck) card type in this game.

Anyway, first look into the cost v. stats - 3-5-0 for 0/0/0 battle modification...emm...this means that this "king" is not designed for strengthen the MS, but doing dirty work behind the scene.

Next, the two keyword. Prevent(9) pretty much is "almost" the same as "you cannot countered this card" (except by [Space Ruler], of course). Family Name is just those mechanics that seriously...I doubt anyone care about them. (Dogatie is a whole family in the Crossbone Gundam manga, so why not?)

Now onto the effects. The first effect gives this card a "Hate Coin" (counter) per end of your turn. This means that this card's next few effect would have to be accumlated slowly turn by turn (there's no way to put Hate Coin onto this card outside of this effect anyway). Also...it means that this card is bad with the anti-Coin cards (not that anyone use them...through)

The second effect is where the coins comes into play. SInce the effect happens when the card sorties for attack, and it's a non-Auto C Auto effect, it means that opponent cannot cut into this effect preventing the damages (i.e. by Special Shield. In addition, this effect is like Gottraltan "I would stop you first" type of effects, which the damages are dealt even before opponent can sort out what Units he would choose to defend your attack --> higher chance of direct Battle Damages to Nation. But just to give opponent more pain, even if he would block, few damages would be dealt to his Nation already by this effect.

The last effect can prevent this card's set group being target by opponent's Command. This type of effect is always nice (as it stops any mass-removal or resets). However, one need a "NT" character for this effect to happens, and in a deck where this card can be play (probably Red Medium beatdown), the only card making sense is the "unmovable" Char (CH-70).

RATING: 7.9/10 - This card's damaging effects is very powerful due since it's pretty much one-sided burn. Some problem with this card is, however, the 0/0/0 stats would not help the Unit this card set on easily dying in battle, and the Hate Coins may take a while to accumulated. But pretty much if this card can sorties for attack with more than 4 coins on it, opponent is died with not much Units can stand in the way of 4 damages (or more) dealt onto it...of course, unless it's White (but burning Nation would hurt White player enough).
