First of all, welcome to Baron's Gundam War Comet. This is my first review...so, if this is bad or wrong...don't blame me.
Anyway, the first card I'm going to review is Turn X, one of my favorite Gundam of all time. This card comes as Rare in the newest booster, Based Booster 3 (as new card), and this card belongs to the Turn A family, or...Brown color.
First of all, for those who are not familiar with the game, the color "Brown" in Gundam War usually revolve around getting cards back from the Lost Card Pile or Junkyard. It's kind of complicated for starters to use this color (and I would not even recommand it...use White or Green, they're just easy to play with...). Anyway, the effect of this card, really, makes me feel more of "Black" (especially Titans cards) more than "Brown".
Before going into details of analyzation of the effect, first we would look at the cost. 2 of Brown and 6 totals means, you won't get this thing out very early (and it's pretty much a very high cost for a Unit), with it's power of 5/3/5, yeah...it's normal to have this kind of cost.
So, we would look at the first three effect, and let me explain "Prevent", "Special Shield", and "Change" mechanics here a little bit...
The whole text of "Prevent (X)":
(Auto B): When the card with this effect “target by card”, add X to the total cost of opponent’s Command Card target this card. When 2 of this effect is on a card, the value of X is added together.
The whole text of "Special Shield (X)": (Battle Phase): <<0>> When this card is in battle area,,the damages of cards that target this card, exclude Battle damage (and damages from "Psycho Cannon") would be decrease by X.
The whole text of "<< [X . Y] >> Change 〔A〕": After you have the number of Nation Power on the field(X as Color Cost, and Y is the total cost). The Change effect is: (Auto B): During attacking step, if this card is in your hand, this card and a card with name "A" would exchange disposition. During this turn, this card is untapped. But, you cannot exchange disposition of this card and the card with name "A" with the original card's name. The effect of "Change" can only be use once per turn for each player.
The first two effect is just, make this card harder to counter and destroy (but it's still possible). The last effect make this card easier to play (since Turn X Top, or U-88, only have costs of 1/3/2, which is really low.)
Then, we would now look at the two effect. What is "Auto (A Letter)"? Auto effect is just effects that, activate automatically, or in other words, it's not optional. The first effect is pretty powerful for adding more Pollutant Counter (opponent lost if they have 10), 5 cards from Nations, plus 2 Counters, that's a lot of damages to opponent. So, more?? To make the effect more effective, the second effect would make opponent think twice before declaring "blocking" the unit team of this card. Since they would fear this card blocking them, they would find ways to destroy this. But, since this card's effect, it protect much of destroy effects.
RATING: 4.3/5 - In many Gundam War cards, they have "broken" effect, and this card is one of them. Despite it's high cost, this card is pretty much fun to play with. |
