Comment: Well, don't know how long people wait for this, but here we go.
Anyway, Stardust Dragon, the ace card of Yusei, protagonist of the newest series Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's. With a new season, and a new type of card, we'll see how this card hold up against all the former ace.
Art:
Well, on a general look, Stardust Dragon is your standard Dragon - Huge head, body, with wings, large claw, etc. This time around, since it's "Stardust", some Star aura surround a Dragon in gray (color of dust).
One small thing I notice is the fact that, well, the body looks somewhat like the Alien-series (The 2 "breast" thing + leg). Head is somewhat similar to BEWD, the wing? Well, looks like a bird one.
No, I love the art, just that White card + White colored creature = look somewhat weird.
RATING: 9.1/10
Stats/Requirement:
As with all Synchro, this card requires a Tuner + non-Tuner(s). With that in mind, since this card is level 8, the easiest way to get this card out is the obvious 4-star Tuner (Only 2 exist, with only 1 being any good) + a 4-star monster / 4x Goat. You can always pull the 3-2-3, 3-5, etc. to get this card out, but less "tribute", the better this card is.
Other than that, Wind/Dragon, well, Wind makes this card fits well in a Wind deck (Since the strongest 4-star Tuner, Warrior of Fog Valley, is a Wind monster). Dragon? It's nothing more than theme purpose as, well, there are no Dragon Tuner yet...(NOTE: this was written by mistake as [Guard of Frembel] and [Magna Drago] are Dragon Tuners).
Lastly, 2500/2000 stats. Well, 2500 stats isn't really bad (Can beat most 1-trib monster), and 2000 DEF, well, will you ever put this card in defense mode manually?
RATING: 7.9/10
Effect:
Well, after all those time you get this ace out, what you get? Well, a nice return, a REALLY nice one.
This card has only 1 effect - Whenever an effect (of Monster, Spell, Trap, doesn't matter) destroy anything on the field (That includes opponent's using card to destroy his/her own card...), you can release this card to negate it, than, special summon this card back at end phase. First, well, you just don't want opponent to just destroy this card with effect in no time (It's not that hard even with Earth Crush restricted), at least not after you waste 2 monsters (at least) to get this card out. The first effect, by itself, is not bad at all, but you don't really want to just sacrifice this card, right?
Then the 2nd part - this card just come back every time you sac. it this way. Is the card now good? Obviously, it turn this card into a reusable [Destruction Jammer] for all cards with virtually no cost. Remember one thing - opponent try to destroy your backfield? Release and back. DAD running rampant? Well, DAD can beat this card using its meat, but he won't dared to clear your backfield first, which means you can just use your own Traps to destroy DAD.
Now, is the card flawless? Obviously not. Being a Synchro is already not really THAT easy to summon, but any RFG card would make this card cry (DDWL being the prominent example, Macrocosmo would prevent this card from coming back), and the forever-broken bounce would still works against this card (Cough...Ground Mole...). Other than that, though, opponent will now have to think twice before destroying something.
RATING: 8.5/10
OVERALL - 8.8/10 - Stardust Dragon is a very solid card. It's not without its weakness, but hey, you don't want this card ban, don't you? This card almost define "What effect of Synchro monsters should look like" (Although most of them aren't even half as good as this card). Consider that Synchro can be freely put into any deck as long as you have space in Extra Deck and Tuners, this card is a solid choice of beating and frustrating opponent (2500 ATK is NOT a joke...).
