Article 38: To Infinity, and BEYOND!
OK, all I would say is, this set translation waste me a lot of time and I almost forgot to do anything because I'm so dedicated to the translation...again...
As always, I would do the same "first impression" and "stats analysis" of the new set. No difference between this article and the ones I had done for other sets, and as always, the title have nothing to do with the article itself...
Card Trends and theme:
This set goes back into the theming of a booster with certain stuff gets more than others. This set see Machine get some more new cards...again. But in addition to Machine, it's surprising that there're some new Insects (YES, INSECTS!), something that had been long gone after 307.
In addition to the general theme, of course, this set contains the "long awaited" Legendary Demons. Konami somehow find ways to balance out some godly like monsters from the anime, although balance to somehow "weak". In addition to the Demons, this set also contain few trashy Judai's Hero cards (with only 1 E-Hero), and the rest of Antique Gear support/monster cards used by Chronos. To round it off, the two popular "morphed Cyber Dragons" were release also. Compare to EEN, this set only have 21 anime cards (YES, it's still a LOT, with a BUNCH of them being bad!!).
There're not much cycles from this set. However, some old cards had seen a modified version:
- Proto Cyber Dragon (Cyber Dragon)
- Machine King Prototype (Machine King)
- Instanteous Bomber (Sphere Bomb)
- The Frogs
- Giant Battleship
-
Pikeru/Kuran
- "Chaos monsters" alike Rituals (although they're NOWHERE close and have NO RELATION with them)
At last, there's a series of cards that related itself back to Graveyard with special effects.
Deck Types:
NOW, let's talk about the new deck types that I could think right now of a little bit (very few consider this set serve more like "boost old cards" set)
- Uria, Hamon, Ravel/Legendary Phantom Demons deck (Note: Don't count on it to be fast, however)
- Princess "Humiliation"
- Goddess of Extermination/King of the End Ritual
- "I HATE FUSION DECK!!" deck (XD)
For deck types that get boosts:
- Cyber Dragon/Kaiser Theme
- "Antique Gear" deck
- Machine
- Insect: small bugs swarm, Princess, beatdown, Trickery
- Skill Drain "Drainup effect beatdown"
- Frog
- Lolita deck, for Lolicons
- Undead Reap
- Reanimator Dragon
- Counter - Vandagaron
- Ritual (a little...)
USEFUL CARDS:
As obvious, we would now look at the useful (not necessary GREAT!!) cards that I believe could be consider to add to deck (no matter theme or every decks...). It goes down from the cardlist.
- Divine Flame Emperor - Uria
- Descending Thunder Emperor - Hamon
- Phantom Emperor - Ravel
- Proto Cyber Dragon
- Instantaneous Bomber
- Gokipon
- Chainsaw Insect
- Ooarikuikuiari (pronounce this FAST, please!)
- Devildozer
- Yomigaeru
- Memory Crusher
- Amplified Malice
- Divine Dragon - Excelion
- Goddess of Extermination - Ruin
- King of the End - Demise
- Antique Gear Drill
- Antique Gear Castle
- Reincarnation (for Ritual theme ONLY!)
- Damage Condenser
- Karma Cut
- Option Hunter
That's it for "first look at SOI". But again, I would pick out the worst card of the set (I just HAVE to!)
(Drumroll): Martyr of Phantom - I do all this stupid thing(s) for just three...tokens? NAH!!

Response to comments from last two articles:
OK, I would spend a little time replying on the overwhelming response from my last 2 articles. Well, the first one spark some discussion as I point finger at Kevin Tewart for some demise in the OCG-TCG players relationship. PLEASE, I'm only speaking for myself (and some players...kind of), and I just feel that it needs to be done to show that "Kevin is not always right, nor me". It's just a rants that I love to do...oh well.
On the second article, please QUIT arguing with me that Creator works with Dark World monsters, I stated WHY it don't work. Again, I'm sorry for wrong wording to point out my point at the beginning of the article, I fucking know Creator's discard is not a cost...
Oh yeah, just FYI, NONE of the cards in this set that discard cards from hand works with Dark Realm/Dark World monsters.
