Article 33: Elemental Collapse
This would be a long article, so be prepare.
Anyway, as like what I did for last 6 sets, I would "analyze" the set with the same category...
Card Trends and theme:
This set is the most "no-theme" set yet in Series 4. Well, there's one series of cards with "Dark Realm" in its name that dealt with effect that triggered when they're discard from hand. But that's it, most of the other cards in the set are from the GX anime (I would count it later), with no specific theme but rather just "release" the card NOW when GX is still popular.
Unlike the last set, this set only have one "new version" of old cards ([Jar of Avarice]). However, it does have reprints of the Poker Knights used by Yugi (probably to make LE8 sold...). Also, this set continue the series of [Giant Battleship] and cards that are related to the 4 Lolita Magicians.
This set have even more anime cards than CRV (which have 21...)
1. Reprint of Poker Knights (3 cards)
2. VW/VWXYZ series (4 cards)
3. Water Dragon series (4 cards)
4. Cyber Blader and things (3 cards)
5. E-Hero and their crappy support cards (9 cards)
6. Manjnome cards (8 from "Hell" deck, 4 from the Ojama/LV deck)
Total 35 out of 60...
Deck Types:
NOW, let's talk about the new deck types that I could think right now of a little bit:
- "Dark Realm" deck
- "Giant Battleship" deck
- Water Dragon deck
- "Hell" deck (don't ask me how to build one, however)
- VWXYZ/Union
For deck types that get boosts:
- Demon/Dark Main-Type deck
- E-Hero deck
- Exodia deck/Reverse World OTK (they can abuse [Jar of Avarice] easily)
- "Trample" deck
USEFUL CARDS:
As obvious, we would now look at the useful (not necessary GREAT!!) cards that I believe could be consider to add to deck (no matter theme or every decks...). It goes down from the cardlist.
- E-Hero Edgeman
- Flame Majin - Hell Burner
- Hydrogedon
- Giant Battleship - Tetran
- Magician of Chaining Attack
- Military God of Dark Realm - Silver
- War God of Dark Realm - Gold
- Cyber Blader
- E-Hero Tempester
- E-Hero Wild Jaggyman
- Jar of Avarice
- Hell Alliance
- Armed Charger
- Hell Blast
That's it for EEN rating...at last ...I would pick out the worst card in the set: Hero Barrier (I would rather Waboku...)
Now time for some WC 2005 coverage...
For those who don't know the top 4...
1st:
Miltiadis Markou
(Greece): Phoenix Chaos Goat-Meta
2nd: Jorge Fabian Pina Lizarraga (Mexico): Morphing Jar Mill
3rd: David Kretschmer (Germany): A Chaos deck with a few Machine
4th: Guan Sian Li (Taiwan): Ben-Kai Warrior
I would first congrad for all of the "hardwork" for these people they need to go into this Championship and win.
Now, what I try to say is, if you would look at people's face when they don't see the result with 4 "Chaos Goat-Meta" but instead they see a mill deck took second or a Greed-Draw burner got into top 16, it's surprising...people had already been "brainwash" by CMG, so they don't prepare a side deck to go against Mill...
All I can say is...WOW...
But by looking at the "unofficial" decklist, I still see the "dump random Light/Dark + Soldier in deck" trend...sad...
