Article 17: A little of Reflection Since I really have no idea what I want to write for the article...I would once again began my ranting...right in my articles...(most of my articles are rants anyway...) Now English SOD have just release, now...of course, it does not hit the game as much as Japanese side (of course as a result of also a BETTER card called BLADE KNIGHT was release at the same time). It have been long since the game have hit the US shore. I still remember the day when Japanese sets are like 10 sets in front of the US game (and now one). I'm not going to again complain on TCG catching up on OCG, since it's a fact that it would probably NEVER "catch up" (who wants Volume 1 trash commons?? Me...not even me...). It have been more than 2 years since I have start playing the game (I began playing at June 2002), I remember the trash deck that I have use as a newbie mistake, remember building my first "real" deck (which is of course...Warrior...), remember I almost calling quit for over 10 times. Still, I'm here...sitting now at my computer writing article, with only 2 weeks until the third year (this site open at approximately end of October, 2002)...ehh...now you know why I write this kind of "article", right?? Looking back, when I start playing, I remember [Guardian Sphinx] was the most annoying card I face...EVER. I know that my friend use a Sphinx-Yata deck that annoy the hell out of a beginner. But then, I have decided to build Dragon (actually REBD Fusion)...but, as now or back at that time...Dragon sucks...so with my brother's influence...I began my long project of building Warrior. Of course, PH cards are the most popular card use in deck (XENO, Sphinx, Lich) where I play, Necrophia, back then, was already in craze mode (that's why Ion (Spikes) decided his second deck would be Necrophia...). So, as the game evolve, I do not have much knowledge on 302 to 304 (as I'm not active in the game). I never know about Breaker being powerful (since no one use it...before the Hakkido Regional champion deck...), I don't even get Magic Counters...now of course...I'm ruling expert...LOL Then come 305, which I still don't know what the heck is it...then of course, 306 came and my first impression is being the Chaos monsters are broken and start arguing with my brother talking about Chaos Soldier or Dragon being better card. It was only that time I began to be more active anyway...(actually due to the fact of I went back to Hong Kong and brought a BUNCH of cheap packs and singles...) Also looking back at my decks, I actually find out I'm kind of...original. If you guys/gals EVER use your time to study my deck (which I don't recommand...LOL), you would see that I have two deck-building style (exclude my Warrior) Now looking back, we see anyone would have a time of them being idiots...I don't know why some player resent them so much, as looking back everyone have a time of where they really don't know what they're doing (although this problem is MUCH WORSE in Magic: the Gathering). But still, this game is living, it is running more to a "stablize line", as oppose to old times, where the game was base 99% of anime/manga, then reorganize and reorganize and finally become a real card game. This would be one of the series of article for my flashback...this one serves not much purpose except talking my history of playing Yu-Gi-Oh, but, it could serve well as one player's experience through a game. |
