Article 14: A brief look at the new restriction. The time has come, the great Konami's decision each half a year to ban cards is here!! First to ALL those people who still don't believe this list is true, this is in the V-Jump magazine, October issue, where Nat Chan (World Runner-Up) and his friend Aaron Leung (the owner of HKCPG), and more people had read it and CONFIRM it. For those who don't know the list: it's here... OK...start with the ban... Chaos Emperor Dragon: It's very very obvious why this card is finally ban. Easy to summon, priority makes effect almost "unstoppable", and, the evil destruction have to be stop. GOODBYE. Witch/Critter - Searchers that make people only use cards under 1500 defense/attack. Cards that the effect can be activate 99% of the time, and the worse, you can look at ALL the cards in your deck, just to make sure the order, etc. etc. Banish... Black Hole - Guess the ban of [Thunder Bolt] is not enough, mass monster removal was just "killed" by this list, and, in order to do that, they must ban the "king of monster destruction" after the 3/1 ban. Real reason?? There's NO DRAWBACK using this card when you do not have monster on the field, period. Raise Dead - This card is just too powerful, since the 0 cost...non-equipment, search all of Graveyard, goodbye. Power of Teamwork - Many people are confused with this one, BUT, this card is the best equipment card, and with the restriction of [Cyclone], they fear this card would be too overplay...this is one of those card where, you don't really have to ban it. Angel's Gift - I have no idea why they choose this card over [Jar of Greed], but yeah, draw 3, dump 2, reborn one, just too much drawing and hand refreshing. Mirror Force - This is the second of the "why ban it" card. This card would just be powerful after restriction of [Cyclone], and mass removal is not a great thing in Konami's opinion... NOW for the restrictions and "unban" cards Protector of the Shrine - Too evil with [Metamol Pod], period. Lily - Finally she's back, still find no idea why she's ban at first...2000 LP is NOT a small cost... Cyber - With the gone of many mass-removal, guess they have to gave one of them back. Since this card is always luck-base, so, it cannot be consider to be powerful. Also, with everyone hating f/d monster so much, this card had kind of lost it's potential as one time be. Fiber - I have no idea why they unban it, but with the restriction of [Deck Destruction Virus of Death], the evil Fiber + DDVD combo would not work pretty much anymore. Also, this card have been weaken too much by the anti-flips craze and lose it's potential due to Control is not dominant (and never would be anymore) deck type now. Metamol - He's back to 1...I have no idea why they put him at 2 at first, and with the coming back of the other 2 Pods, this card needs to be stay at 1...since it just gave WAY too fast hand-refreshing. Also, this card is just in WAY too much destruction combo... Cyclone - He's overplay, period. WHY restrict a card that would make the Back field "untouchable", because since this card hurt the "back field" too much that everyone fears their Trap got Cycloned. Everyone run 3x in their deck...it's time to make people think of other cards to use instead of this card "jamming up" spaces. But one thing, why that don't fear stall cards? Change of Heart - Gave back some field control after mass-field control is gone. This card makes Anti-Flips stronger, and this card is one of the reason Cyber and Fiber Pod are unbanned. Distressful Choice - With the gone of CED, they feel that this card would not be that good anymore. Konami really make it's first mistake here..."reanimate" (or Dump-Reborn in Yu-Gi-Oh) deck is back... Sixth Sense - A card that you can draw 6 cards from your deck if lucky...oh no, that's not going to happen. Tidal Wave - Since other mass-destructions are gone, Konami KNOWS that people would choose this card as their first card to replace those cards...and I don't see why it take Konami so long to finally realize this card is just powerful. DDVD - Overplayed, period. Can't say anything else, except this card just makes some high-attacking monster no one use...this is the only card I foresee that would "lower" in restriction. |
